Text Message (SMS) Consent

Sun West Transmissions and General Auto Repair sends text messages to customers who agree to receive them. Customers opt in verbally, on the phone or at our service counter, and then confirm by replying YES to a text from us.

What we text

Message frequency varies, usually a few messages per repair visit. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not required to get service.

How customers opt in

Step 1, verbal consent. On the phone or at the counter, our service writer reads this script:

“Can we text you at [the customer’s mobile number, read back]? Sun West Transmissions and General Auto Repair would text you about your vehicle, like appointment reminders, repair updates, estimates and payment reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP anytime to opt out, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not required to get service. We’ll send you a text now, and just reply YES to confirm. Is that OK?”

If the customer says yes, the writer records the opt-in with the date, time and staff name. If the customer says no, we send no texts.

Step 2, the customer confirms by text. We send:

Sun West Transmissions: Reply YES to get texts about your vehicle (appointments, repair updates, estimates, payment reminders). Msg frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent not required for service. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Step 3, confirmation. When the customer replies YES, we send:

Sun West Transmissions: You’re signed up for texts about your vehicle (appointments, repair updates, estimates, payment reminders). Msg frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Opting out and help

Reply STOP at any time. You’ll get one final confirmation and no more texts. Reply START to sign up again. Reply HELP, or call us at 623-745-1100, for help.
